We have a dog now! A "ShiChi", half chihuahua, half shih tzu. She looks more like a chihuahua than a shih tzu. Being a DragonBall fan, I'm more inclined to call her a "chiaotzu". Not that Chiaotzu had anything to do with dogs, but all the letters are there and she's white like Chiaotzu was with some tan patches on her eyes, ears, and butt.
Terrified of the baby. I think she touched him once while sniffing him and ran away the rest of the time. The baby, however, loves her, and chases her around. The cool thing is that she was born the same day the baby was.
She's afraid of one of the local cats too. One she chased around the house, the other she ran back into the house when she saw it.
Gotta get some doggy toenail clippers. After she had a bath, I got a blanket and let her snuggle up next to me. She hit a playful moment and buried under the blanket, and scratched my side in the process. I know dog nails are blunt because they are meant for digging, but daggum do they still feel sharp!
One of the perks of being a cable guy: some customers that don't want or aren't able to keep something will offer it to ya. He got her for free. Another bonus is that the food she's used to will only cost us... $10 a month, I think it was? She likes that juicy, chunky stuff. Some part of me says it's better for the dogs to eat wet food because it's more like a fresh kill, but I have absolutely nothing to back that up.
Her previous owners have her house-trained and said she likes to sleep at the foot of the bed. Fine by me, I like bedmates. She's whined a bit for them while scurrying about, but I think she's settling in just fine. They named her Candy. I think she's more of a "Cloud" since she's white and fluffy, but on Shepherds Crossing I tend to name my dogs stuff like "Cloud", "Cirrus", "Stratus", and "Cumulus".
