I wouldn't know the tomato measurements if it wasn't for them being printed on the can. XD
How I measure my spices is by how the color and texture of the sauce looks. And a little taste testing.
Some people like to put a bit of sugar in their sauces. I prefer to put in beef. The parsley is in there for no other reason than that it makes the sauce look nice.

8 oz tomato sauce
8 oz tomato paste
8 oz diced tomatoes
thyme
sage
oregano
parsley flakes
garlic
salt
pepper
Place all into a pot. Bring to boil and then let simmer for a minimum of 30 minutes. Stir occasionally.
